Overall Reflection: The Life of a Pop Legend
This research project has been an interesting and fun way of learning. Through my research, I believe I have a great deal of factors that are leading to the answer to my essential question.
Research Project Part Two: The Life of a Pop Legend
Throughout my research, I have come to find many characteristics of Michael's life that I never even knew were true. With me being such a huge fan, I was in shock. The research that I have come to find so far has really helped me better understand what Michael Jackson had to go through in order to get the fame and publicity he did.

The Real Michael
As Michael grew older and his career progressed, many rumors started to spread around about him. Ones that questioned his sexual orientation, his absurd skin changes, and what seemed to be plastic surgery that had been done to his face. In this interview, Michael says, "Once you hear a lie for long enough, it begins to seem true." Michael explains that his sexual orientation is not to be questioned, because the rumors going around saying that he was homosexual were not true. He also had a skin disorder called vitiligo, which causes his skin to become lighter. This was also the reason for him walking around outside always carrying an umbrella, because the sun could severely damage his skin. Michael also states how he had only had two types of cosmetic surgeries done to his nose, so he could hit higher notes when singing. it is shown that Michael was extremely misunderstood, and that the media can be cruel. This also teaches us humans that we shouldn't believe everything we hear or read from the media, whether it be on television, or in a magazine or newspaper. With this I question; where did these rumors unfold and why did people believe them?

Jackson Brothers: Supportive or Not?
At the Jackson 5's last concert on their worldwide Victory Tour, Michael announced that he was splitting from the group and going solo. The other members of the Jackson 5 were extremely supportive of their brother, as they too wanted to continue on with their careers. In 1991, a few years alter, Michael signed with Sony music. In 1992, he began his first world tour, performing in countries that had never been visited by a pop/rock artist. From that tour, Michael founded the "Heal the World Foundation" to help the lives of children in need around the globe. It is said that Michael loved children and was always finding a new way to give back. My question is, in what ways did Michael give back to his loyal devoted fans?
